The first time I saw Waddy grind his miraculous ax was in Colombus Ohio at the first Warren Zevon show I would ever see. This show was raucous, because Warren was really in true form, but Waddy clearly added to the madness.

Waddy’s resume includes Warren, Linda Ronstadt, Stevie Nicks and The Rolling Stones and he currently is part of a band called The Immediate Family. That band is a supergroup of sorts of great session players, Russell Kunkel, Leland Sklar, Danny Kortchmar and Steve Postell and they are the subject of a great new documentary of the same name. The film is directed by Danny Tedesco who produced another great documentary called The Wrecking Crew.
