Boston is an amazing city, and it is one of the most passionate sports towns in the country.
The fan base is rabid.
A gentleman brought up in Waltham Massachusetts finds himself in the middle of sports fan hysteria every day and you can tell he loves every second of it.
Tony Massarotti is the co-host of the wildly successful Felger and Mazz Show heard every afternoon on 98.5 The Sports Hub and he is our guest on this new episode of Takin A Walk.
Check out the episode here
Tony was also the color commentator this year on some Boston Red Sox games on NESN and he is the author of his fifth book titled “This is our city: Four Teams, Twelve Championships, and How Boston Became the Most Dominant Sports City in the World.”
As Tony put it in our interview on the walk “The experience between the fans and the teams is very very personal and that can make it volatile.”
I had been a fan of Tony’s work over the years including his work at The Boston Herald and I’m also a major fan of the Felger and Mazz Show on Sports Hub.
I got hooked on the show with that now infamous interview they did with Red Sox owner John Henry and when Beasley bought Sports Hub it was nice to get to know Tony, Rich from The Toucher and Rich Show and a cast of so many others on that great team.
Thanks, Mazz for Takin A Walk!
Next week radio personality royalty with Charles Laquidara.
Also, a cool Bonus Friday episode from legendary media executive Spencer Proffer.
I’m off to Nashville next week to record a bunch of episodes and I want to thank John Shomby for his assistance.
Thanks also to Bob Malatesta for his audio magic and to Point to Point Marketing for their assistance.
