Beloved Hollywood Actor Steve Guttenberg
Caring for his dad, his career and his favorite music.
Steve Guttenberg has had a wonderful life in the movie business.
Known for many roles in his career, The Police Academy franchise, Cocoon, Diner (which is one of my all-time favorites), Three Men and A Baby, and many others, one of the most crucial starring roles he played in his life was caring for his sick father in a time of need.
Steve has written a beautiful book in tribute to caregivers and to his late father Stanley called “Time to Thank” and it was wonderful to have him on Takin A Walk.
Check out the episode here. Listen to episode here.
Steve shares the many life lessons he gained from his father, the little things that are so important in life, caring for friends, enjoying your work, cherishing those moments.
He also shares memories of his career and his movie roles, but even buried within those stories is the support he always got from his mother and father.
We also discuss his favorite music of course, the music that got him through difficult times, the music that still reminds him of his late dad, from Billy Joel to Springsteen to Sinatra and so much more.
Thanks so much to Steve for being on, thanks so much to all caregivers and thanks to Spencer Mindich for hooking us up.
